I grew up in what they call a “leafy suburb” of Boston. I loved climbing trees, juggling and riding my bike and unicycle. I spent the majority of my time in school in the Art room. After High School I went from MassArt to UMass Amherst, earning a BFA in Painting and Illustration. After a few years I headed off to study Illustration at Syracuse University in their MFA ISDP program.

I’ve managed an Art supply store, painted miniature mouse figurines, trained painters, driven a Council on Aging van, all while making art for kids. I’ve painted mailboxes, murals and traffic light control boxes. Since 2001 I have worked out of a studio at ArtSpace Maynard.

My favorite illustrators are Robert McCloskey, Robert Lawson, E.H.Shephard, Maxfield Parrish, Beatrix Potter, Jessie Wilcox Smith, Holly Hobbie and Maurice Sendak.

I work primarily in pen and ink with watercolor and colored pencil. I also combine traditional with digital techniques.

I live in New England and always will. I love the Berkshires and I love to spend time painting and kayaking in mid-coast Maine.
